The Phase III 0.2 MTPA Clean-type Heat-Recovery Coke Oven Project at Vietnam Hoa Phat Energy Joint Stock Company, for which Huatai served as the general contractor, began trial production with coal charging at 16:00 local time on December 24, 2020, and successfully produced its first mature coke cake at 15:30 local time on December 27, 2020. It marks the successful commissioning of Huatai’s first overseas EPC coking project and another milestone in the close cooperation between Huatai Yongchuang and Hoa Phat Energy JSC.

The project team collaborated closely with all relevant parties including the client, the Design and Research Institute of Huatai, subcontractors, and equipment suppliers, overcame various challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic and language barriers, and worked tirelessly day and night. During the final stages of the project, Li Fuquan, Deputy Director of the Project Management Department, was personally stationed on-site to facilitate and achieve a project startup ahead of schedule. Furthermore, the first batch of coke produced met or exceeded design specifications in all key indicators. The successful commissioning of this project resolved the client’s long-standing reliance on imported coke for part of its needs.
