Time flies, and before we knew it, 2020 had come to an end. On February 7, 2021, Huatai Yongchuang (Beijing) Technology Co., Ltd. held its 2020 Annual Summary and Awards Conference. Chairman Xu Lie delivered an opening address, and General Manager Han Dong presented the work report. The ceremony recognized outstanding individuals and teams for the year 2020, and Yang Zhiwei, Director of the Administration Department, presided over the meeting. The event was held in Anshan (the main venue) while Beijing venue and 11 project sites attended via video conference, with company leadership and all employees in attendance.

In his speech, Chairman Xu Lie noted that 2020 marked the company’s 10th anniversary, during which, in the face of the sudden COVID-19 pandemic, all Huatai employees worked together to turn crisis into opportunity, bucking the trend to achieve progress in both revenue and R&D.

Regarding the company’s business performance, Chairman Xu Lie noted that in 2020, the company secured contracts worth over 2 billion yuan, and since the start of 2021, it had secured an additional 1 billion yuan. Since Jianlong Group became Huatai’s second-largest shareholder, Huatai’s R&D efforts have accelerated significantly. Breakthrough progress has been made on two major R&D projects, and a new industrial trial contract has been signed for the heat-exchange two-stage coke oven technology, providing a strong foundation for the company’s sustainable growth.

Regarding the company’s future development, Chairman Xu Lie clearly stated the goal of building a century-old enterprise to ensure the company’s enduring success via the following specific measures and plans. First, promote intelligent CDQ technology, fully expand into the CDQ maintenance market, extend the CDQ industrial chain to cover construction, operation and maintenance. Second, the construction of the two-stage heat-exchange coke oven test base must be completed in 2021, which is of great significance to the company’s development. Third, the company will strive to go public in 2021 and aim to exceed 10 billion yuan in output value within eight years; Fourth, the company should seek to apply its advanced technologies in actual production as soon as possible, which not only benefits the company itself, but also serves as a positive demonstration for the entire industry.

Regarding the current work, Chairman Xu Lie put forward the following requirements. First, improve the compensation management system and implement an internal professional title evaluation process to ensure that every capable employee has a career advancement path. Second, strengthen management innovation and, through a comprehensive review of regulations, achieve standardized, institutionalized, and modernized management. Third, by formulating and issuing the “Measures for the Administration of Science and Technology Awards,” truly incorporate scientific research into the daily management system, thereby boosting the company’s scientific research and innovation efforts and enabling it to become an innovative enterprise as soon as possible.

At the conclusion of his remarks, Chairman Xu Lie expressed his gratitude to every member of Huatai for their hard work and contributions in 2020.

General Manager Han Dong then presented a comprehensive summary of the company’s work in 2020 across 16 areas. The report noted that, in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic at the start of the year, Huatai responded swiftly and took timely action, implementing appropriate measures at every stage of the pandemic to ensure the smooth progress of research, development, production and business operations throughout the year. The report emphasized that in 2020, the company’s new contract value exceeded the 2-billion-yuan-mark, significant progress was made in research and development projects, the first overseas EPC coking project was successfully commissioned, and the IPO application was formally accepted by the Shenzhen Stock Exchange. These achievements clearly demonstrate that Huatai has stepped up to a new level and embarked on a new journey.

While outlining the work plan for 2021, General Manager Han Dong emphasized the need to quickly transform the company’s research achievements into productive capacity to create new drivers for business growth. Safety efforts must be rigorously pursued, meticulously planned, thoroughly implemented, and effectively enforced, to safeguard the company’s rapid development. The company will transition from people-centric to system-based management through a comprehensive review of its policies. Creative thinking must be employed to attract, develop and retain talent, building a workforce that is sufficiently large, well-structured, highly qualified, and highly competitive to overcome the bottlenecks hindering the company’s rapid growth.

At the conclusion of the work report, General Manager Han Dong stated that, standing at a new starting point where both output value and revenue of the company had exceeded 1 billion yuan, overseas expansion was beginning to bear fruit, and a listing on the ChiNext board was imminent, Huatai stood ready to embrace a year of innovation and progress in 2021. We will remain true to our original aspirations, hold fast to our dreams, stay grounded, and work diligently to achieve our goal of becoming a “top world-class engineering and technology company” as soon as possible.

During the awards ceremony, company leaders presented awards to department-level outstanding workers in science and technology and outstanding individuals, company-level outstanding workers in science and technology and outstanding individuals, company-level outstanding individuals in quality and outstanding managers in science and technology, outstanding middle managers, outstanding teams in science and technology, and company-level outstanding collectives. Lin Peikun, Deputy Manager of the CDQ Project for Jianlong Xilin Iron & Steel; Shi Qiaonan, Chief Engineer of the Coal and Coke Division; and Bai Fuquan from the Project Management Department, delivered speeches as representatives of company-level outstanding individuals, outstanding middle managers, and outstanding project managers, respectively. As scientific research and innovation are deemed as the lifeblood of an enterprise, the Award for Outstanding Worker in Science and Technology was introduced for the first time this year.
