On October 22, 2022, the Phase I dry quenching project for the large-scale retrofit of coke ovens in Zone 2 and Zone 3 at Beiying Coking Plant- for which HT served as the EPC general contractor - officially broke ground. This project also marks the first dry quenching EPC project undertaken by our company for the AnBen Iron&Steel Group, the world’s third-largest steel producer, following the merger of Anshan Iron&Steel Group and Benxi Iron&Steel Group, serving as a significant step forward in our company’s market expansion endeavor.

This project involves the construction of two 110 t/h dry quenching units to support the new No. 3 and No. 4 top-charging coke ovens, each featuring 55 coking chambers and a height of 7 meters.

With a tight 13-month construction schedule, compounded by the challenges of a major COVID-19 outbreak and a winter construction suspension lasting over two months, the project team, with the strong support of company leadership and the united efforts of colleagues, pressed forward with the project by tapping into the full potential of the on-site construction team, even working around the clock to expedite the progress. Despite various adverse factors and by adhering to the principle of “safety first, quality first”, the team successfully completed the critical first phase to high standards, laying a solid foundation for the timely completion of the whole project and earning full trust and high praise from our client.
